Interacting for development

The Interact Club concluded the Interact year 2005/06 by organizing an area development project on 18th and 19th June. This project targeted a rural village named Meegahakiwula in the Badulla District.

The project was organized by the community service director of the club, Ranushka De Silva. This was a truly memorable event for the Interactors.

Under the phase I of the project, a health camp was organized. Around 1000 patients were examined and given free medicine by professionals.

Next, they conducted a donation programme of stationery items, school shoes, school uniforms and other fundamental necessities for the poverty stricken students of the area.

Finally the members donated 40 litres of paint to the municipal council of Meegahakiwula.
