The U17 Western Province 10-a-side rugby tournament was held on the 12th and 13th of May 2006 at the Royal College sports complex.

The college team, which took part in this tournament, was captained by N.S.D.S. Wickramatillake who did a considerably.

good job in his shoes to keep the players moving. Eventually the team was placed 4th in the tournament.

STC beat Science College, Carey College and St. Joseph’s College to qualify to the semis and lost against Isipathana College (00-07) and St. Peter’s College (14-15).

Soccerites on the rise !

The college 1st XI Soccer team competed in the Zonal Championship and the second round was held at the small club grounds on the 2nd of May.

The players did extremely well to defeat Science College and Sunananda Upananda Vidyalaya and ultimately clinched the Zonal Championship.

Consequently the team was qualified for the Western Province knockout tournament in July. As they are coming up after a long time, they’ll need a very good cheering squad at this tournament.

Many men squashed by a Thomian !

The SSC Men’s Open Squash Tournament was held from 21st to the 28th of May.

It was won by our own Eranga Alwis. This became an unprecedented achievement as he is the first ever school boy to win this tournament.

He ranks at the third spot according to the current squash player ranking in Sri Lanka.

The Ternion congratulates him on this remarkable achievement.
