Ternion - May 2006

Perhaps the only silver lining in this term is the time change which lets you get up half an hour earlier. The second term is the term where academic work begins to count as the year draws closer to its end. It is also notably the most boring term for the whole year.

The 2nd term commenced with the long feared results of the G.C.E. O/L exams being released. We are proud to note that 9 of our students achieved the maximum of 8 A’s. We the editors congratulate them on a job well done and hope that they will keep up the good work in their coming years in college.

Inspite of the fact that many are sitting for exams, the Thomian family got together to enjoy some magic on our ground in the form of a play “The Chronicles of Narnia.” This was the biggest production the College has seen for some time. We hope to see another major production in the future.

At the same time there was a different kind of a celebration in the life of a very special person at College. The Editors wish to congratulate our Sub Warden and Mrs. Perera on the birth of their second child.

Going away from our customary interviews, we decided to interview a lady who is very close to the Thomians in a different manner (especially in March). We would like to thank Mrs. Nirmali Wickremesinghe the Principal of Ladies College for lending us time for the interview.

Since this is the beginning of a new term we wish you all the best in the coming days of school.
